Transforming an apartment tower block into a family mansion was a Herculean task for the clients and designers alike. Fortunately, the six lower floors being allotted to cars enabled us to create meaningful landscaped spaces at ground level. A large half-acre lot next to the approach ramp was developed as a multipurpose garden with Japanese accent. Wooden gazebos, cascading waters and graveled patches under the canopy of giant rain trees, all came together to create a family space with functional flexibility. At night, the exclusive use of indirect lighting transforms this sedate garden into a place of exotic ambience.
Privacy from the neighboring buildings was of paramount importance for the first business family of India and this has been achieved by planting tall growing trees of attractive foliage and flowers on the periphery of the property.
